Heal the Soul Ministries is a start-up non-profit social service agency serving the greater Columbus area. The organization is founded by Cheryl L. Gunnell, who has both the practical experience and the education to lead the organization. Heal the Soul Ministries is dedicated to providing holistic wellness programs and services to support the spiritual, emotional, and mental well-being of individuals and communities.
OUR Services
Heal the Soul Ministries is an organization that provides transitional housing and life-skill training for women. It offers assistance to mostly drug-related women coming from recovery, frequently homeless, as they move from dependent, often abusive relationships into independent, self-sufficient lifestyles. Additionally, it assists clients with child reunification. This is particularly important as 80% of the clients have children but do not have custody of the children.
This facility will house clients for short and long-term living contingent on the individual’s time and need for recovery. The goal is to house these clients for 90 days once it is known what each individual’s needs are and to help with their recovery and with the goal towards self-sufficiency.
The facility will provide help in assisting clients to enhance their emotional, social and spiritual health. Outside sources will be utilized with opportunities for educating clients with necessary life skills. This collaborative approach to empowerment is the keystone to developing self-sufficiency in the clients. The steps include personal development, vocational training, substance abuse counseling, interpersonal skill building, spiritual healing, community involvement, leisure activities, and independent living skills.
